Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatment of horses has been performed on horses for more than 3000 years and at its core involves the insertion of small needles at specific locations on the horse’s body to stimulate healing and allow the body to function in a normal healthy way.  Acupuncture can be helpful for many conditions in the athletic horse and may often afford options for treatment of certain conditions that respond poorly to other treatment modalities.  Acupuncture treatment is well tolerated in most patients and can be a very powerful tool in the treatment of many conditions in athletic horses. Additionally acupuncture is virtually free from negative side-effects and complications.  Please contact our office if you have specific questions regarding acupuncture treatment or wish to schedule an appointment to evaluate your horse for acupuncture therapy.
